An 11 piece eruption of Soul, R&B and Pop, Mitch & Mike Gordon have assembled a dream team full of Wollongong and Sydney’s finest young musicians to create music that moves the mind and the feet. With a heavy focus on dense vocal harmonies, popping guitar and solid grooves, the twins have found an infectious sound that showcases their musical finesse whilst engaging listener’s both educated and easy-going.
In 2014 Mitch & Mike put their first footprint on the surface of the original music world with their debut self-titled EP. The duo produced a raw acoustic sound coupled with “effortless smooth vocals and feel good guitar hooks”. They toured this EP through Japan in August of 2014, playing shows in Tokyo, Kyoto & Osaka.
In just over 12 months the twins have explored a range of new soundscapes and refined their direction with their newest release, “This Is How It Feels”. This album was born from a successful crowd-funding campaign which allowed the 11 piece band to take to the studio and record an 8 track album LIVE in one day.
Originally from Mudgee, the brothers moved to Wollongong to be closer to the Australian Institute of Music where they both completed their Bachelor Degrees in Contemporary Performance. Since living in Wollongong, Mitch and Mike have been unavoidable contributors to the growing Wollongong music scene. With varying combinations of their group, the Twins are seen regularly filling local venues including Three Chimneys, The Heritage Hotel and The Howlin’ Wolf Bar, where for 3 months in 2014 the twins hosted an incredibly successful residency packing out the venue week after week.
From the success of their last tour, the twins have decided to take their music overseas to Japan once again, playing shows in Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka throughout mid 2015.
